....and now this important message from Cathy-Emily......

Enough with the irreverence of Santa's reindeer, the Seven Dwarfs, and Lindsey Lohan; time to move on to something much more serious and meaningful: the Provincial Election. Hahahahahahahah! No, Just Kidding! Something even more dear to the heart of the average British Columbian: the Vancouver Canuck's skate through the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Four straight baby! FOUR STRAIGHT! Last night's win over St. Louis has even the most disgruntled fan jumping back on the bandwagon, waving his flag (circa 1994) and chanting 'Bobby-Lin"-------you have to forgive him, he indulged in a bit too much celebratory brew and hopefully will shout "Bobby-Lou" next game day.

ARE YOU GUYS EXCITED OR WHAT??????

*ahem* So, how's Corey's "I told you all so" dance? Mine has been pretty smokin' this past while ;-)

Love the way the Canucks are playing ... am delighted with Wellwood and Johnson, tickled pink with Raymond's speed and as for Burrows and Kes? I am expecting Disney to make a movie of the week about them (well, if Disney cared about Canadian stuff, that is). As for Bobby Lou (and don't you just know his Italian family must absolutely cringe every time they hear that? "They hillbilly-ed his name!!!"), well, he is just plain scary ... the way he moves and bends in there? It's like he's the love child of Gumby and Pat Roy.

Go Nucks! =D

Oh! Forgot to add ... ran into Darcy Hordichuck at my chiropractors on Thursday night ... about gave me a heart attack when I was told 2 Canucks were coming in in the evening ... I asked "who? which ones?" and my massage therapist didn't know and said "I guess the injured ones" Great news ... except we didn't have any known injuries at that point, LOL. I'm left wondering, okay, who got hurt that we don't know about??? He came in as I was leaving and he was fine ... I think they were just going in for regular maintenance ... so nothing to worry about after all ... but still cool that the Canucks and Giants go to the same place I do =D

LORET: In regards to the long wait--that's what that celebratory brew is for! ;)

KATE: Still LOL at your comments! I actually thought of you the moment after Burrows scored. Seriously. You were the ONLY one who never rolled their eyes about my calling Burrows as an up and coming great player. While you and Corey have been doing your 'Canucks playoff dance' I've been doing my 'Ha ha you suckers! I TOLD you Burrow was da' man!!' (Grace never was an attribute of mine.)

Love your 'love child of Pat Roy and Gumby' although not so sure about the visual it conjures up.

LORET AND KATE: It is fans like you both that makes me really happy to see the Canucks get this far. You guys aren't on the band wagon; you are tirelessly driving it even when it comes close to running out of gas.

Hey Cath ... I don't know if you guys ever go on the Canucks website ... I don't do it much anymore, but I happened to pop in after the Round 1 sweep and stumbled across a post that just made me howl ... this person started the thread back in September, complaining about Burrows and how we don't need him, yada yada ... this is the OP's post:

I know allot of people are going to scorch me for this but I fail to see the reason why nobody questions his ability to play in the nhl. Every game i watch with him in the lineup(all of them) I find myself screaming at the tv because of the stupid stuff the guy does. Personally i'd rather have any of the guys that are fighting for a spot on the team rather than burrows. Everyone's #1 reason they like this guy from what I read on this forum "He's great on the pk. Who cares! Anyone can do this thats fighting for a spot. He can't score and i'm tired of kesler carrying this guy on his back night after night, I'm tired of him losing the puck, falling down everywhere seriously this guy falls down a hundred times a night can't he skate its ridiculous, stupid penalties its endless. "He plays with grit" is another common description tossed out when his name comes up. That ok sure he pisses off guys but fails to do really be able finish that job off by being able to fight because he can't. IMOP he's an embarrassment to the team. Please Gillis let this guy go keep Krog or Pettinger or Brown whoever. let er rip.
What makes it so funny of course is how the season proceeded ... I just skimmed the first few pages and the last few pages, and sometimes? Well, let's just say that someone is walking around out there with some serious foot-in-mouth disease. It's almost like Burrows read it and used it as a checklist on how to improve.

Anyway, from one Burrow's supporter to another, I thought you might get a chuckle out of some of it:

Thanks Kate; I appreciate your posting that..........and I have to say that I must apologize to anyone who heard me complain about Sammy Salo. I was wrong, wrong, wrong. He is a worthy player to have on the team.
